Track list expansions

Is there a way to mark which people opened an expandable bit of text and which didn't? I want to see if choosing to read it is correlated with improved performance?

This information is not gathered at the moment.

One way would be to randomise people to have the option to see the extra information or not or use a multiple choice question to see if they want to learn more (rather than the expandable) but that might give an unappealing user flow.
